10 Tips: Simple Ways to Be Stylish
Look stylish, sexy, and impeccably put-together with these summer dressing ideas:

1. Go for shorter pants. Ones that fall to the ankle look sporty for casual summer outings (even office Fridays, if your workplace is relaxed enough). Pair them with flats.

2. Try intricate earrings. Drop earrings decorated with crystals and stones look beautiful against bare shoulders for evening.

3. Keep heels small and feminine. Tall, chunky heels feel too much like autumn -- stick to slides and mules with delicate, kitten-style heels instead.

4. Stock up on shells. Sleeveless tops in cotton, fine-gauge knit, and stretch fabrics go with everything from shorts to business skirts. Plus, they keep you cool.

5. Experiment with hair accessories. This year, wear ponytail holders, combs, and barrettes in turquoise and coral.

6. Forego traditional belts. Instead, use a long, rectangular scarf as a belt. Simply thread through belt loops and tie to the side (or tuck in the ends).

7. Keep shorts appropriate. They should fall to mid-thigh or lower.

8. Try new color combos. If you usually stick to black, white, and beige, use the summer months to experiment! New combinations to wear: Pink and brown, lavender and khaki, orange and olive.

9. Invest in a shift dress. This summer staple in a light, neutral color can take you to work, a casual wedding, and a romantic dinner out. Just change accessories to dress it up.

10. Pick prints. Preppy-inspired stripes and polka dots are wearable and look lighthearted for summer.

Every year, everyone wants to kick off the New Year with a fresh start: hitting the gym at least 3 times a week, dieting, or going back to church. Well, I’ve got even more ideas to add to your resolution list. Like, 10 of them. And they’re all related to beautifying you. So please proceed to find out…

1. Sleep - You know the old saying, “get your beauty sleep.” A sufficient amount of sleep every night is conducive to looking more be-au-it-ful. So, please, girls, aim at getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night.

2. Balanced Diet - Eat a nutritious, balanced dietfor healthier, glowing skin and brighter eyes. And yes, that means including all five- food groups. What goes inside does reflect on the outside.

3. Clean Your Cosmetic Bag - Is that lipstick you bought since 2 years ago still sitting in your makeup bag? Or that funky-smelling mascara taking up space there too? And is it time to toss that ancient lip-gloss and swap it for a new one? Ok, well I’ve got an ingenious, ground-breaking, earth shattering idea for you… throw out all your old makeup you know you’re never going to use! Out with the old and in with the new…

4. Update Your Look - Have you been wearing the same lip color for nearly a decade now? Then take a little trip to the Estee Lauder counter, get a makeover, and replace your frosted Maybelline for a new lip shade (hey, not that I don’t like Maybelline). Or maybe you’ve been sporting the same hairstyle since you were a freshman in college (I hate to say this, but for some of you, that’s a really long time ago). But seriously, march your tush into the hair salon or phone a friend who knows what the heck he or she is doing, and get a new sexy ‘do for Pete’s sake. Start the New Year with a bang (no pun intended).

5. Pamper Yourself - Whether you’re treating yourself to a DIY facial, or indulging in a hot-stone massage, a little pampering every now and then goes a long way. And there’s no better way to rejuvenate for 2008 than getting a spa treatment.

6. Quit Smoking - I know, I know. This one is the epitome of clichés for New Years’ resolutions. But, come on, the cancer stick not only um, causes cancer, but it promotes yellow teeth, sallow, wrinkly skin, and dulling hair. Enough said.

7. Nourish Your Skin - Invest in a quality facial moisturizer packed with antioxidants and an eye cream to nourish that delicate eye area. It might be a bit pricey but trust me it’s worth it.

8. Purchase a New Perfume - Get out of your fragrance rut, and stop being so loyal to the same scent you’ve been wearing for months, or even years. My Mom was attached to her Victoria’s Secret Pear Glace body spray, but once she tried a mist of my Jennifer Lopez Live, that was the end of her love affair with Pear Glace. But hey, it doesn’t mean you should never wear your old favorite perfume every now and then. Just switch it up.

9. Get a New Smile - Well first let me clarify. I’m not saying you should book an appointment with a cosmetic dentist for porcelain veneers. What I mean is, get your teeth professionally cleaned and whitened by your dentist. And maintain them with whitening toothpaste and flossing regularly. Yep, flossing. That’s something most of us are guilty of not doing on a regular basis. A whiter, brighter smile is a big beauty bonus, gals.

10. Inner Beauty - Get a soul makeover by cultivating more kindness. Make someone’s day - smile at a random stranger or make truce with an old friend or relative whom you haven’t spoken to for years. It won’t cost you a dime to help make the world a nicer place.
